Parents' Learning Allowance pays between £50 and £2,024 a year, depending on assessment. GOV.UK says you can qualify only if your household income is less than £18,957.98 a year. It is paid in three termly instalments and does not affect your maintenance loan.

The biggest mistake is leaving the dependants section blank on the Student Finance application.
